One Shade but 2 different developers.

One of the biggest mistakes in hair colour is treating every section of the hair the same.

In this transformation, I used 7CC with two different developers because the hair had two very different canvases.

✨formula 1: 7cc + 10 vol on the pre-lightened sections for controlled deposit on a porous base.
✨formula 2: 7cc + 20 vol on the darker sections to achieve balanced lift and colour penetration.

The developer should be chosen based on porosity, underlying pigment and previous colour history—not just the target shade.

Understanding the canvas is what creates seamless, predictable results. That’s the science behind professional colour.

WHY TEASING MATTERS IN BALAYAGE ✨

Teasing is one of the key techniques behind a soft, seamless balayage blend.

By gently teasing the hair before applying lightener, it helps diffuse the colour at the root preventing harsh lines and creating that livedin finish clients love.

WHY WE DO IT:

• Creates a softer blend
• Prevents stripes or harsh bands
• Keeps dimension through the hair
• Gives a more natural grow out
• Helps customise placement + brightness

The amount of teasing used can completely change the final result soft teasing for a brighter look, heavier teasing for a more diffused finish.

Proper saturation isn’t optional!! it’s the difference between clean, even lift and patchy, brassy results.

When highlighting, every strand inside your section needs to be fully coated with lightener. If the product isn’t evenly distributed, those “dry spots” won’t lift at the same rate, leaving you with uneven tones and unwanted warmth.

Think of it this way: lightener only works where it’s applied. No saturation = no lift.

✨ Pro tip:
• Use enough product to fully envelope the hair
• Work in thin, controlled sections
• Press and smooth your lightener in don’t just lay it on top

This ensures consistent processing, brighter results, and a more seamless blend from root to end.
